Auriga
Went to Henry Coe State Park this weekend, pointed my camera straight up and took this 10 second exposure of the Auriga constellation. There are lots of interesting open clusters in this photo. Messier objects M35, M36, M37, and M38 are all visible
One Half of The Double Cluster (NGC884)
In my opinion, one of the greatest treasures of the night sky is a large open cluster of stars located between Cassiopeia and Perseus popularly known as “The Double Cluster”. An open cluster is a group of stars believed to have a common origin and be of roughly the same age. The majority of the stars in this particular cluster are young and hot, giving them their distinctive blue tint.
I took this photo at Henry Coe State Park using a DSLR mounted to a Celestron telescope.
Hercules
Located in the Hercules constellation and one of the brightest star clusters in the sky, M13, appears as a fuzzy star towards the left of the photo. It has about 300,000 stars and is located 25,000 light years away.
M42 aka The Orion Nebula
I took this photo a few weeks ago by mounting a DSLR to a telescope and stacking about 5 minutes worth of 30 second exposures. It suffers from a bit of camera noise and blurred stars, but I am happy with the end results.

Stacked paper effect using CSS 3
With a single html tag and some clever usage of the box-shadow effect, you can easily create a cleanly stacked paper effect. Works by setting a dark 1px shadow followed by a 2px white shadow.
My song of the week
Create a 3D ribbon using CSS 3
Using pseudo selectors and css triangles, you can easily create a 3d ribbon with only one html tag.
